Rolling Wireless, the leading global Tier 2 supplier of automotive cellular network access devices (NADs), is celebrating a significant milestone: in June 2021, the company produced and shipped more than one million automotive-grade modules in a single month for the first time.
Rolling Wireless was established as an independent European company in November 2020, with the divestiture of Sierra Wireless’ automotive-grade wireless embedded modem business. Since then, the company has transitioned all customer and supplier agreements, implemented new systems for customer order and production management, and completed a one million US dollar investment to increase the capacity at the factory.
“I’m extremely proud of the work our teams have accomplished in such a short time, in a context of industry-wide component shortages and logistics challenges,” said Dan Schieler, CEO of Rolling Wireless. “This milestone reflects continued strong demand for our automotive connectivity solutions, and Rolling Wireless’ trusted position among major car brands worldwide.”
Mr Schieler adds that Rolling Wireless expects to experience continued strong growth in the second half of the year, with a forecast to reach 11 million NADs sold in 2021.
According to the industry analysis firm Counterpoint, Rolling Wireless was the 5th largest global cellular IoT module vendor by revenue in Q1 2021, across all vertical markets.
Rolling Wireless NADs are produced by a manufacturing partner in an ISO/TS 16949-compliant facility. Developed over almost two decades of continuous improvement, the company’s automated no-touch manufacturing lines ensure industry-leading quality performances, optimized costs, and an efficient end-to-end customer experience.
